No kidding?

The advertising for 2012 the movie about an apocalyptic end to the world carries the disclaimer - content may be upsetting.

Really? The concept that the whole world will be destroyed, every living thing killed, the sum total of humanity and humanisn completely obliterated, and all our loved ones gone might be upsetting.

Man, that is stiff upper lip.

  1. The end of the world in the movie is not the end of the earth itself, which shrugs its shoulders and moves things around. Does the world exist if there is no human around to see it?

  2. I like the pop wisdom add-on there. You're pretty good at this wisdom stuff too.

    In my defence on the accuracy of the movie plot end, the advertising is guilty of the normal rhetorical amplification.
